Pernamax Canine Caplets joint care

Customer Reviews

Below is some of the feedback we have had for Pernamax Canine Caplets. To share your story please email info@maxavita.co.uk.

Oscar is an elderly Weimeramer given a new lease of life by Pernamax.

His joint problems in his lower spine and back legs was so severe that he had great difficulty moving around and this had also stopped him going out for walks, particularly distressing as he had become incontinent. His back leg muscles become weak and even the gentlest touch caused him discomfort. Within 10 days or so on Pernamax we saw the difference and he began to move around much more. After a couple of months Oscar’s a new dog again! He has become more active in the garden, can go for walks and even gives the ‘mad’ boxer next door a run for his money!

Oscar has had problems with his stomach in the past so taking other drugs which upset him was out of the question. Pernamax has been safe without any problems even after months. Certainly, we believe that he wouldn’t be here with Pernamax and it has been great for my dog.

We are Pauline and Peter from Plymouth, Devon and this is the “tail” of our 7-year-old Border Collie called Darcy.

He didn’t have the greatest start to life – we found him in a local Animal Rescue Centre having been run over by a car. He had a damaged spleen but his owners at the time did not seek any help for him and he ended up at Woodside where they took him in and he underwent surgery to repair his spleen.

So, there he was only 4 months old and already looking for a new home. Peter and I fell in love with him as soon as we saw him, even if he did look a bit of a sorry sight having just had surgery. We were able to adopt him and took him home with us in October 1994.

We went through the usual puppy stages with him, having to house train him again due to his stay in Woodside, and he was rather partial to wood – stripping the skirting boards in our kitchen and having a go at the kitchen door if he was left! Like most Border Collies, he loves to be outside and most of all he enjoys playing with his toys, usually a ball of some kind. During the first 2-3 years with us, he had his fair share of cuts and bruises due to the fact that everything had to be done a full speed, his footballing skills would put David Beckham to shame! He also enjoys swimming, whether it was in the sea or the local river and it doesn’t matter if it’s Summer or Winter.

Around about the age of 3 or 4 we noticed that he was getting “stiff” in his back legs, he would struggle to get out of his bed and have difficulty jumping into the car. On our walks around the local countryside, if we came to a style or wall, he had trouble getting over. It really became apparent when he was struggling to climb up the stairs at home. We took him to our Vet who explained that it was probably early stages of arthritis, we discussed some of the things that he liked to do and the Vet wanted to make sure that Darcy would still be able to enjoy life. He recommended an Oral Suspension, which could be added to his food.

We noticed after a time that the treatment was making Darcy’s life easier and people commented on how well he looked. Our concerns were about the potential long-term effects this would have on him, the liquid is a form of steroid and were not sure if any damage could be caused. Also, it had an effect on Darcy’s coat, whilst still in good condition, he did appear to loose a lot more hair than before and it would come out in small clumps!

In October 2001 we were talking with friends about Darcy and the fact that he was on this liquid and our concern about the possible long term effects and they asked if we had heard of Pernamax and that we should give it a try, its made of natural ingredients and dogs love the taste. It was suggested that we reduce the amount of liquid by 25% a week and give him a Pernamax tablet 3 times a day. Well, within a couple of days we noticed a difference in our dog – he was trotting off in front of us on his walks, eager to see what mischief he could get up to.

After a month, we took him off the steroid and reduced the tablets to 2 a day. It’s like having a new dog, he now runs up and down the stairs, jumps into the car (well most of the time), has no trouble with styles or walls and his coat is in wonderful condition – no more clumps falling out - in fact, we are often stopped by people commenting on how shiny his coat is. He now wants to play ball all the time, we’ve had to go out and buy him some new footballs as he has wore the old ones out.

We would not hesitate in recommending Pernamax to anyone who has a dog suffering from stiff joints– you’ve got nothing to loose and your dog has everything to gain.

My dog who is 12 years old suffers from painful joints. Due to a car accident when he was a puppy, he also suffers from a ‘locked jaw’ meaning that a few times a day his jaw gets stuck for a few seconds.

Since he has been on Pernamax (about 2 months) his condition has greatly improved. His coat is in much better condition and his legs are better. The one thing that I noticed is that his jaw never gets locked anymore.

I am therefore very satisfied with the product.

Benson, a large 12 year old Labrador, was typical of many older large dogs who have benefited from Pernamax

Benson is a large dog who was noticeably finding getting up from the ground and going for walks much more difficult. His spine and hip joints were stiff and he walked with a pronounced limp and almost appeared ‘lop-sided’. Occasionally, if he bumped into things he would yelp in some pain. Within the first 10 days on Pernamax we were able to see the difference. He was not only walking easier but was getting up and going out with
much more enthusiasm as he begun to enjoy himself again. Thankfully, this improvement continued for some time. After some months I took him off Pernamax to see if this was really soothing his joints so much and indeed he went downhill after that. Needless to say we want him back on Pernamax as soon as possible!
Frankly we believe that he would not be alive today without Pernamax - simply because he was finding it so difficult to get up from the floor! We feel that when your dog ages it’s important to help maintain their quality of life as much as possible and Pernamax can help to do that.
