Opposition Springtime is an 8 year old black mare by Fleetwater Opposition. In 2007 she was listed and selected for the Young Rider European Championship Team, but some last minute soreness due to a lost shoe cross country saw her ruled out.
Bred by John Johnson at the opposition Stud in Salisbury, Tamsyn first came across the mare in 2006. At the time she was a ‘quirky reject’ with a terrible, canter.
Deciding that the mare needed to strengthen up and mature, Tamsyn persevered with her.
Once her personality and traits had been established things progressed swiftly and she rose through the grades. However she still has to rule the roost and be allowed to have her own way.
Her stable mate Drama Queen is 10 years old and has been with Tamsyn since the age of 7. She too was at the Final Trial for the 2007 European Championship Team and ended up being listed as the First Reserve. Tamsyn bought her from breeder Fiona Menzies. By the Dutch Warm Blood Stallion Drimaro out of a showjumping Thoroughbred mare, Drama Queen is incredibly anti-social with other horses and prefers the company of humans. When her brain is in gear she shows amazing movement and ability in the Dressage Arena, and has an amazing jump, with plenty more to come.
Tamsyn has acquired a new ride, ‘Badgers Best’ who is qualified for Badminton CCI**** 2009. Badgers Best, who is named after a brand of beer, is a twelve year old 16.1hh Grey Gelding.
